Renowned Kazakh musician Bakhyt Shagyrbayev has set a new world record in the category of Traditional Music.
He performed 114 traditional songs continuously for 6 hours and 21 minutes, entirely from memory, without lyrics, sheet music, prompters, backing tracks, choir or instrumental accompaniment, while simultaneously accompanying himself on the bayan (accordion).
The record was officially registered by GBR - GLOBAL BEST OF RECORDS, The World Book of Records for Asia and Africa, headquartered in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
